  39. Its called the Perception Video Recorder (PVR-2500).  It has a list price
  40. of $1995.00.  An optional video capture daughter board has a list price of
  41. $995.  So basically it's the same price as the older PAR.  It uses motion
  42. jpeg to compress the video that it records, as do most non-linear editing
  43. systems.  Two of the most popular non-linear editing systems Avid Media
  44. Composer and Data Translations Media 100 are touting the highest quality
  45. images as being 120-150KB per frame.  The PVR records at 140KB per field!
  46. That's 280KB per frame, in other words, much better images which is its
  47. main advantage over the older PAR.  It will also allow programs like Adobe
  48. Premier to be used as front ends for non-linear editing.
